Online Blackjack Game

So You Want to Be an Online Blackjack Pro?

You've been playing online casino games for quite a while. Blackjack in particular. You feel that it is time to move on to the next level. You want to become a "blackjack pro." It does have nice ring to it doesn't it? Here are a few tips on how to become an online blackjack pro.

Remember these simple pointers:

1. the main reason why you play the game is to overcome the dealer, 2. observe how other players play, 3. know when to stand, draw, split your cards, and double down,

Before we continue, a good online blackjack pro must also keep this in mind. When the dealer's cards total 17 and above, the dealer has no choice but to keep those cards or what is called a "stand." Otherwise, the dealer must draw a card or "hit."

The rule of blackjack is simple. Get your cards to total 21 and you win. However this is not the only way to win. A blackjack pro knows that he also wins when the dealer goes bust. That is, the total of the dealer's cards go over 21. Many players make the mistake of looking at their cards only and fail to look at the dealer's. Base some of your strategy on this idea. This will increase your chances of winning.

It is also good to observe and see how other players do it. Especially players who keep on winning. If want to become a blackjack pro, then what better choice than to learn from the best? In other games, like basketball for example, teams study what others did and why they won. Why shouldn't you do so with other blackjack players?

However, the road to becoming an online blackjack pro doesn't stop there. It is advisable to know some of the good strategies. A hand that does not have an ace in it is called as having a hard total. A soft total is, obviously, one that does not have an ace. So let's go to the third pointer.

When should a player hold his cards or stand? A good player should stand when his cards:

* has a hard total of 17 while the dealer's card is lower than 8, * has a hard total between 13 and 16 with the dealer's card having a total of less than 7, and * show a hard total of 12 and the dealer's card total either 4, 5, even 6.

Of course, with this in mind, a player then should draw a card or hit, when:

* his hand has a hard total between 13 and 16 while the dealer's hand shows card between one (ace) and 7, and * his hand shows a hard total of 12 and the dealer's card is does not total 4, 5, or 6.

What about splits? In blackjack, a player can split his card when he gets a however. By splitting his cards, a player's chances of winning can double. However this is where it becomes tricky. Remember, the cards carry values from 1 to 10 only. Aces are counted as either 1 or 10. Cards 2 to 9 are counted at face value. 10's, Jacks, Queens and Kings are counted as 10. Obviously, when you get a pair of aces, it is always good to split them. However if you get the face cards or 10 cards, do not split. They key to splitting is understanding the cards. Why would you split a pair of 4's for example? You just reduced your count from 8 to two 4's.

Another good strategy at blackjack is called the double down. In blackjack, when a player opts for a double down, what he is simply doing is doubling his wager but will only get an additional card. When should you double down? This cases come into mind:

* when your card totals 11 while the hand of the dealer does not have an ace, or * when your card totals 10 while cards of the dealer does not contain either a 10 or ace.

Like with the other strategies already presented here, these are not cast in stone. In most cases, it is up to you to decide what to do. Playing the game and trying out different strategies is always good. Despite the many advises you can get your hands on, if you want to become an online blackjack pro, there is no better way to do it than play.
